Bizarre Bazaar : Each year Bizarre Bazaar provides a showcase of quality artisans, crafters, entertainers and performers, plus an exciting event program each week that draws customers and tourists to return back week after week. Bizarre Bazaar celebrates local talent and features high quality handcrafted original and unique art works and crafts every Thursday afternoon from 4 - 8pm at the Old Courthouse at the corner of Seymour and 1st Avenue. Kamloops Children's Arts Festival : The Community Arts Council of Kamloops and the City of Kamloops present the 2009 Children's Arts Festival. This fun-filled event will take place on Saturday, September 12th, from 11:00am until 4:00pm at Riverside Park. From the Kamloops Arts Council web site: The Children’s Arts Festival is fun-filled, action-packed day of artistic, musical and theatrical activities for parents and children of Kamloops. Those partaking in the day’s festivities can expect creative workshops for the children such as Mask-Making and Belly Dancing, as well as amazing performances by music, dance and theatre groups in the Riverside Bandshell and our very own Story Telling Tent. Community groups are also invited to set up booths in the park to promote their organization, as well as provide children with small arts and craft projects. The perfect way to spend a Saturday with the family, fun for everyone guaranteed. To participate as a workshop facilitator, entertainer, artist, community group or artist, contact the Arts Council Office after the new year. Kamloops Cowboy Festival : 13th Annual Kamloops Cowboy Festival, 2009. The BC Cowboy Heritage Society was incorporated on June 5, 1996 with the objective to promote, encourage, establish, conduct and operate events and activities relating to the preservation of cowboy heritage in BC while fostering and developing community interest. This is being accomplished through the BC Cowboy Hall of Fame, the Kamloops Cowboy Festival, the BC Cowboy Heritage Society Student Scholarships, and the Joe Marten Memorial Award for the Preservation of Cowboy Heritage in BC. Kamloops PowWow : The Kamloops Pow Wow is a three-day event held annually in July or August which attracts approximately 1,300 performers, competitors, arts and crafts people, and more than 15,000 spectators. Music in the Park

Salute to the Sockeye : As many as 3.6 million sockeye have returned from the ocean to the Adams River during dominant runs which take place every fourth year through the months of September and November.(2010 and 2014 will be the next dominant runs) Here the salmon spawn and die and a new cycle begins. During dominant runs the Salute to the Sockeye pageant attracts hundred of thousands of visitors to the streams of the Roderick Haig-Brown Provincial Park. Sub-dominant runs also attract a substantial number of salmon (2011 will be the next sub-dominant run.) The images shown here were exhibited at the Kamloops Art Gallery during 2005 and were also displayed between September 24th and October 20th, 2006, at the Gulf of Georgia Cannery National Historic Site in Steveston, BC.
